History
Our herd began, like countless others, with the purchase of a some unregistered Nubian does in 1982. This was the beginning of Long Acres, the precursor to Robin-Wood. My parents, Bruce & Laura Foster, then aquired several registered Nubians and a registered chocolate LaMancha doe named Carmel Ridge Hulda.
Hulda's kid, SGCH Long Acres Shannons Mimi, was our first success in LaManchas; and what a success she was! Mimi was the ADGA National Champion in 1986, and then repeated her performance in 1988."Long Acres" changed to "Robin-Wood" following our move to Terre Haute, Indiana. Though the name changed, the quality did not. In 1989 Mimi's daughter, SGCH Robin Wood Genuine Quality GS, traced her mother's footsteps and became the Reserve ADGA National Champion. Mimi's grandson, SG Robin Wood Genuine Return, sired many beautiful animals in the Hogg's Hideaway herd, including SGCH Hogg's Hideaway Chimera, the 1994 & 1996 ADGA National Champion.
In the late 1990's, we downsized our herd, but I kept a few animals that were related to Mimi and Genunie Quality. During college, I met a wonderful man by the name of Chad Ellis, who didn't seem to mind that I had twenty dairy goats that I loved to milk and show. In 2004, Chad and I were joined in marriage and we brought the Robin-Wood herd to our current home of Chrisman, Illinois. We have also extended our own family with the addition of Seth and Autumn, who love to play with the baby goats.
Our current herd is made up of four dam lines. The first (and most successful) is our Alcohol family, which began with CH Robin-Wood Skyy Selkie TM. The second is our Foreign-Name line, which stems from SG Robin-Wood Petite Fleur TM. Our third dam line is named after Movies; this is a breeding-up program that started with a doe named Ideal Acres Bells Babaray. Our fourth line, based upon Royalty, comes from CH Summer Haven SE Josephine.

Tor is our "handsome devil" of the buck pen. His dam, Tara, was the 1st place 3-year-old at the 2010 ADGA Nationals, and his paternal granddam, Maple Sugar, was the 2010 ADGA National Champion! We are very excited to own Tor, and really want to thank Tammy Tullar for parting with him. To see pictures of his relatives, please visit the Autumn-Acres site.

Altrece Firefly Forrest
- Purebred LaMancha
- 3/16/2008
- Black
A few daughters:
S: *B Kastdemur's Frankly, Rhett...
D: Altrece Firefly Cloak
Forrest came to our herd as a "hand-me down" buck. Originally bred by Altrece, he was used by the Mint*Leaf herd for a year, and then moved to the Boondox herd (Rockville, IN) before making his way into the Robin-Wood herd. We were very excited that Dan Harrison of Boondox entrusted Forrest to us. The Altrece herd is known for their longevity, which is a quality we like to see in our own does. Forrest's litter sister, CH Altrece Firefly Lane, and dam, Altrece Firefly Cloak are both lovely does with lots of capacity and lovely attachments. So far, Forrest has produced very correct heads, strong front ends, and lots of dairy character.
